Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) is the flagship project of a small group of Davao Bloggers. DFAT began in 2008 as a project to entice bloggers and tourists to visit Davao City and try the various food and culinary delights that local restaurants have to offer.

Davao region is one of the country’s food baskets with an abundance of fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, affordable meals, and a wealth of restaurants offering memorable food experiences.

Every year, Davao plays host to a food and travel bloggers from all over Philippines. Since 2008, DFAT has provided exciting gastronomic experiences to its participants with fun tours and exciting adventure stops on the side. With various companies, food establishments, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region XI Office as partners, DFAT has grown to be one of the most anticipated blogging event in the Philippines. This year, DFAT will be from May 1 to 4, 2015.

The 2012 edition of the famed Davao Food Appreciation Tour (DFAT) had its opening salvo at the Ranchero. The Filipino-inspired restaurant served up a delectable assortment of Filipino merienda dishes.

The merienda opened with fresh and fried lumpia and pancit canton. There were also servings of the classic Filipino merienda dish dinuguan with, of course, puto (rice cake).
