Sigwa

In commemoration of the Declaration of Martial Law and the First Quarter Storm, Initiatives for Peace in Mindanao (InPeace), Exodus for Justice and Peace (EJP) and Kyabaan Association, Inc (KAI) are hosting the viewing of the Cinemalaya Film Sigwa in Davao City.

The film by Joel Lamangan is about the First Quarter Storm, focusing on six central characters involved with the FQS and how their lives were affected by its events and consequences.

The film features Megan Young and Dawn Zulueta as Dolly, Allen Dizon as Eddie, Marvin Agustin and Tirso Cruz III as Oliver, Pauleen Luna and Zsa Zsa Padilla as Sita, Jay Aquitania and Jim Pebangco as Rading, and Lovi Poe and Gina Alajar as Azon.

The film was given a grade of “A” by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB). Tirso Cruz III won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Cinemalaya 2010 for his role in this film.

There will be a community viewing on September 19, 2010 tentatively set at the Almendras Gym. The film will go on school tours from September 20 -22, 2010. And the Gala Viewing will be on September 20, 2010, tentatively at the CAP Auditorium. Tickets to the gala viewing are set at PhP 150 and PhP 300. You may reserve your tickets at this link.
