Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquaio, better known as “People’s Champ” has strengthened his commitment as Ambassador and Spokesperson of Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP). To start 2015, he turned over a 5 Million Peso donation to the organization. On hand to receive his donation are HFHP Capital Campaign Cabinet Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala, HFHP CEO & Managing Director Charlie Ayco, and Chairman of the HFHP National Board of Trustees Architect Bong Recio.

Rep Pacquaio renewed his commitment to Habitat by signing a new Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on January 2, 2015. Through the MoA, Pacquaio commits to support Habitat’s “WeBuild” Campaign. It also outlines Pacquaio’s donation and that it will be used to partially fund 195 houses for families of fisherfolk and sari-sari store vendors in Glan, Sarangani.

The recipients will be living in the “Pacman-Tata Yap Ville” situated in a 2.8 hectare site in Barangay Tango, Glan. Duplex units will be built for the families. Each duplex unit is 32 square units located in an 80 meter lot. “Pacman-Tata Yap Ville” will have a multi-purpose center, a community park, and a concrete stage for community events.

During the signing of the MoA, Pacquiao announced his plan to purchase more land for permanent houses for his constituents in Sarangani Province.
