Their menu offers a mix of familiar Japanese dishes and a few exciting innovative items. Ingredients are always fresh and of high quality. And the quality of their dishes has been consistently high, as well.

Sukiyaki

Start off with one or two rolls from their Makimono Menu. We love the Salmon Aburi Roll. You are sure to love it, too.  We also recommend the Bonsai Roll, and the Tokyo Tempura Rolls. A sure crowd pleaser is the Crazy Maki.

Crazy Maki by Tsuru Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar is made sushi rice with kani (crabmeat) sticks and Japanese mayo, wrapped in nori. It is covered in tenkasu (fried tempura batter bits) and topped with more kani.

It is simple. Nothing is raw. It is lightly seasoned. And has crunchy elements. It is perfect for kids and adults.

Our Editor Ria highly recommends their Sukiyaki and the Mixed Seafood Teppanyaki. Get the Menchi Katsu Curry if you want to try something different. It is ground beef stuffed with cheese. Deep fried. Doused in delectable Japanese curry sauce and served with rice. Superb.

Happy Hour

Do not miss out on their happy hour, especially if you love maki.

Buy 2 maki rolls and just pay for one. Happy hour is from 2 pm to 5 pm, Mondays to Fridays at their Abreeza branch. (Subject to availability and terms and conditions.)

Tsuru’s price range might be considered as a bit more expensive than most other restaurants in the Davao, but every peso you spend here is worth it.
