Recuerdo Filipino Cuisine recently opened in Juna Subdivsion. They offer Filipino dishes in an intimate homey ambiance.

We have been there once and that single meal is enough to appreciate what Recuardo has to offer. Simple, uncomplicated Filipino food. No frills, no bells and whistles, no pretensions. Just classic Filipino dishes made with care. Just like how we love our homecooked meals.

What We Tried

We started our meal with Pancit Molo.

Pancit Molo

The dumplings are meaty and delicious. And the broth is perfectly savory and rich. It is garlicky, salty, a bit peppery with a hint of tanginess, and lots of umami flavor. We recommend eating it with rice to balance the flavor.

We also tried the Chicken Inasal Skewers.

The chicken is tender and cooked just right. It has subtle flavors of ginger and spices. With smokiness from the grilling. It is served boneless in manageable pieces making the Inasal hassle-free to eat.  There is a serving of flavorful Chicken Oil. And eaten best with a dipping sauce of Calamansi and Soy Sauce.

We also tried their Houseblend Iced Tea which was refreshing.

The meal ended with their Chocolate Crinkles which has a moist fudgy center and crispy sweet edges.

We heard their Kare-Kare is a must-try. And we are looking forward to trying their Beef Caldereta, Bagnet, and the Humba Bisaya. Their menu also includes All-Day Breakfast Meals and Solo Meals. The Beef Tapa and the Pork Binagoongan seem interesting.

Their menu is limited but we appreciate the variety in mixing popular Filipino dishes while also highlighting regional dishes like Humba and Inasal.
