Every year since 2008, our team organizes the Davao Food Appreciation Tour to promote food tourism in the region. We work with local food establishments, brand partners, and bloggers from all around the Philippines to put the spotlight on Davao food, exciting dining options, and delicious treats from Davao City and the rest of the region.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DFAT 2020 will be different. The MyDavaoCity.com Team remains committed to promoting the local food industry. This year’s event will be a social media campaign, rather than an actual tour.

Featured Davao Food

Every Friday and Saturday of July, the My Davao City Team will host a hashtag party. Each day of the virtual food tour will focus on a local food business or theme.

This year’s campaign will feature the following:

• Lachis Sans Rival Atbp – #LachisDavao on July 3;
• #DavaoDesserts on July 4 highlighting cakes, sweets, ice cream, and other desserts by Davao shops;
• Batu Cafe, Zanzibar, and Margie’s Bakeshop – #BatuDavao on July 10;
• #DavaoDrinks on July 11 featuring local coffee brews, tea concoctions and milk tea faves, cocktail drinks, milk and yogurt, and other beverages by Davao establishments and brands;
• Balik Bukid Farm and Kitchen – #BalikBukidDavao on July 17;
• #HealthyDavao on July 18 putting the spotlight on vegan and vegetarian dishes, farm to table meals, nutrient-rich ingredients, and other healthy and sustainable Davao food options;
• #proudlyDavao on July 24 showcasing regional food and dishes which highlight Davao region cuisine, produce, and ingredients;
• #AsianCusine on July 25 featuring Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern, and yes, Filipino cuisine by local establishments; and
• #supportlocal and #buylocal on July 31 inclusive of any and all Davao food businesses, be it brick and mortar stores, mall shops, home-based food entrepreneurs, or fresh produce.

How to Join

Every day of the event, we will release a primer on the featured establishments and themes. We shall also be reposting and resharing posts by our participants. So do come back here every Friday and Saturday for our yummy updates and hard to resist recommendations.

We invite food businesses, entrepreneurs, and the public to join this campaign. Just use the hashtags #DFAT2020, #DavaoFood, and our hashtags of the day so we can see and engage with your posts.
