Every year, Davao’s established and budding entrepreneurs gather to showcase their wares in the biggest bazaar in town. Last November 30 – December 3, the Davao Convention Center became the hottest shopping address in town.
Shopaholics went crazy scouring through great finds. Clothes, bags, shoes, accessories, cosmetics, toys, gift items, books, miscellaneous kikay stuff, and even furniture were sold at varied prices. Some were as low as a couple of pesos, while some set back shoppers a couple of thousand pesos. Christmas decors were available for those who haven’t decorated their houses and offices yet.
One of the notable booths was that of Cute as Can Bead which sold handcrafted bead accessories such as necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They also sold handcrafted beaded bookmarks, cellphone charms and bag charms. Crystal Seas sold handwoven and handcrafted bags, shawls and home accessories that are locally-made.
Boutiques such as Closet and Pickled Pink also had booths which sold clothes, bags, shoes, and other accessories. Pickled Pink showed off their own shoe line Sabine that is designed by its fashion-forward proprietor Mimi Tupas.
Meanwhile, Srpbk n’ Stuff sold eye-catching scrapbooking materials and kikay items that make great gift items for your friends and loved ones. Another novel item that I found in the bazaar were Paper Clay Art kits, which are good gift ideas for creative and arts-inclined children. Books, stickers, toys and other items for kids were also sold by various booths.
Foodies were also overwhelmed by the many food choices available during the bazaar. Tiny Kitchen sold The Gourmet Tuyo of Davao, par-baked frozen products such as pizza and garlic bread, savory spreads and tostaditos, gourmet cookies and tarts, artisan health breads, and chorizos and longanizas. Lorie’s sold delicious strawberry crinkles, food for the gods and other baked goodies. Another Le Reblochon Gourmet Cheesecakes showed off their triple chocolate cheescake and other cheesecake varieties.
To all entrepreneurs, shopaholics and foodies… see you next year!!!
