Polo Bistro
As part of the Davao Food Appreciation Tour, fourteen very lucky bloggers ate a five-course meal at the Polo Bistro Pool Lounge of the Marco Polo Hotel.
First off, we tried the very peppery (but not spicy) Pepper-Crusted Seared Tuna served with Cucumber and Kani Relish. It was very successful in making our tongues be prepared for more Continental Cuisine delights prepared by Sous Chef Alex Bomanlag.
After the appetizer, we were served the very rich, very flavorful, and very, very cheesy French Onion Soup with Parmesan, Mozarella, and Ementhal Cheeses. Being a cheese-lover, I was enamored with the French Onion Soup. The cheeses complemented the delicate soup very well. I do not eat onions but I savored every onion strip in that soup.
Then came the salad and main dish combo. The serving of the main dish was preceded by a live cooking presentation of our food. (SEE VIDEO!)

Davao Food Appreciation Tour
As an offshoot of the very successful (despite naysayers) Davao Food Trip, The Usual Suspects is now preparing for the Davao Food Appreciation Tour, fondly called Davao FAT!
The Davao FAT will be a three day tour of Davao City that will center on food and eating. This will be held from March 14 – 16, 2008, in time for Araw ng Davao. Most meals during this event will be for free for all registered participants. It will surely be a yumtastic experience for bloggers from around the Philippines.
Avenida
I am not a fan of bangus (milkfish). I don’t hate it, but I don’t eat it if not forced too. But the moment I tasted Avenida‘s Bangus dish, I fell in love with it. The fish was not dry, it was flavorful. The tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables on top were delicious. YUM!
