Last year, two of our good friends and Davao lovers Jay de Jesus and Aileen Apolo were the only Manila-based bloggers who joined the Davao FAT 2008. Metro Card Club
Last Sunday, I was at the Metro Card Club Davao to witness the first Poker Face Monthly Tournament. My friend, was one of those who won the satellite tournaments and was able to get a seat for last Sunday’s tournament. It was a looong tournament of 50 players. After three rounds, only 7 had been eliminated, including my friend.
Kutitots Talks About Davao City
During the last Kadayawan Festival, some Metro Manila bloggers visited our city to join the festivities. One of them was famed Filipina WP Theme designer, Gaile “Kutitots” Villanueva.

Kadayawan is dubbed as the festival of festivals. What began as a simple thanksgiving for bountiful harvests has evolved into one big party of parties, with the highlight on the diverse groups of Davaoeños. A celebration of our indigenous cultures, food, arts, hobbies, past and present cultures, Kadayawan has become the event to experience and enjoy in Davao City every year because there’s something for everybody.

Infinit Ready to Drink Cocktail presents AUTO REVOLUTION 3 by Aw2spec
The team that brought motorsport to the forefront in Davao City, is back. Aw2spec Online is back and ready to party with the Infinit Ready to Drink Cocktail’s Auto Revolution 3. Get ready to have fun with Infinit as they bring you six events in one grand party at the Damosa Market Basket Parking Area from August 16 – 17, 2008.
Headlining the events are Auto Show-Off and Motor Show-Off competitions. Showcased will be the best cars and motorcycles from Davao City and other parts of the Philippines. The event will be judged by multi-awarded show car owners Thirdie Icasas and Bryan Revilla.
To get the crowd pumping, cars will also compete in the Southern Philippines Autosound Challenge (SPAC) where the automobile with the loudest, best quality audio set-up will bag the prizes and the bragging rights of being the best.
Pelikula Dabaw
Davao Blogger Jenny Hernandez has taken the lead in forming a Film Lovers Group now known as Pelikula Dabaw.
The aim of the group is to have a weekly free showing of films not usually shown in Davao City. And to celebrate the month of Philippine Independence, the group will view a slew of award-winning and critically-acclaimed Filipino movies.
