There are so many things to do, so many food to eat, and so many sights to see when you’re in Davao City. My Davao City is the perfect place to experience all the best tourist activities, the mountainside and the beach are both just a few minutes away from the urban center, the food is fresh and affordable, and the people are friendly and helpful. There are various cheap hotels in Davao if you want to stay in the city for a night.
If you only had 24 hours in Davao City, these are the places you must absolutely visit:
Paradise Island Resort
The Paradise Island Resort is the most popular beach resort in the Island Garden City of Samal. It is not technically in Davao City but it’s just a 10 minute boat ride from Davao City. It has a beautiful white sand beach and they serve delicious food. I suggest you go there very early in the morning when the tide is high. And while you’re there, order some food for breakfast or brunch.
Lachi’s
You must not leave Davao without trying the famous Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp. Lachi’s is famous for its delicious but not too sweet desserts, specially the sans rival, and their affordable home-cooked meals. Eat there for lunch and don’t leave without eating dessert. I highly recommend the Unforgettable Pork Ribs or the Chicken Mozarella. And for dessert, do try the sans rival or the cheesecakes.
Philippine Eagle Center
In the afternoon, commune with nature and enjoy the view on the way to Philippine Eagle Center. The park is home to the majestic Philippine Eagle and other exotic flora and fauna. This trip will surely delight the young and old alike.
Tiny Kitchen
For dinner, drop by Tiny Kitchen. Tiny Kitchen serves delicious Spanish dishes at affordable prices. They specialize in paella and offer it in various kinds and sizes. If you’re not a fan of paella, try their pasta dishes or their caldereta, fish dishes, or the lengua. Finish off your meal with some desserts. I highly recommend the mango sans rival and the frozen chocolate brazo de mercedes.
Riverfront Corporate Center
If you have time left, visit the Riverfront Corporate Center where you can ride the Zorv, take an adventure on Zip City’s zipline ride, interact with the animals at Crocodile Park, experience local tribe cultures at the cultural village, and eat exotic dishes at the Riverwalk Restaurant. You will not run out of things to do in this one stop center for fun, food, and adventure.
Other activities you can do in Davao City are a photowalk around the San Pedro Street, Magallanes Street, and People’s Park areas; food tripping across the city; night photowalk at the sea wall featuring the replica of the statue of David; and a visit to the Magsaysay fruit stand.
