The 1st Asian Bird Fair with the theme “Nurture Nature, Save the Future” will be held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao from September 24 – 25, 2010.
The fair is held as a common initiative of the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines, the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand, the Chinese Wild Bird Federation, the Wild Bird Society of Taipei, the Malaysian Nature Society and the Nature Society of Singapore.
Coinciding with the Asian Bird Fair is the 6th Philippine Bird Festival. The events are scheduled in time for the autumn migration of birds from Japan, China and parts of Siberia.
The Asian Bird Fair will feature a Bird Conservation Forum at the Waterfront Insular Hotel. There will also be photo exhibits, presentations, and fun activities for the kids.
Delegates will also tour the Philippine Eagle Center and the Eden Nature Park while in Davao.
The First Asian Bird Fair is sponsored by the Philippine Eagle Foundation, the City Government of Davao, Team Energy Foundation, Primer Group, Aboitiz Power, Tanduay Distillers, Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Fauna & Flora International, Philippine Association of Wildlife Veterinarians, C. K. Lu Enterprises, Waterfront Insular Hotel
Davao, and NCCC Mall.
